12+ hours.
I worked 12+ hours on this wings today. I already had the wire shaped and wrapped so today’s project was just the cellophaning.
12+ hours.
I’m still not done with it, obviously. I need to trim the excess off the edges and then wrap/glue it to the wire frame for a clean seal/edge. But that will have to wait.
I haven’t even begun cellophaning the other wing but it shouldn’t take nearly as long since I patterned all the designs already when I made this first wing and I’ve already got that set all symmetrical and cut out, just waiting to be attached (baring any unforeseen issues).
I modified the design here, too, if you can’t tell. I’m genreally freakishly meticulous about keeping to canon and reference but it just translated terribly so I had to change it. I think it looks nice? Hopeful people will still know what I am (as if they’d have know before, ;D ).
I also measured the height too (not including the current excess on the edges) and they are each 5ft tall (I am 5’2!!)!
My back is so sore.
And I have a glaze of adhesive coating my entire person.
Also, so hungry.
I wish it was daylight outside. You really can’t appreciate these things unless you see them in/thru sunlight. Guess I can try to get an outdoor shot tomorrow. The colors look so dark in my poorly lit living room! bleh.
Thus far Rarity’s wings have taken me 24+ hours (and I’ve got at least another 10, I think).
My god.
